The State Highway 1, running between Cape Reinga and Bluff, connects the airport with Wellington, Picton, Christchurch and many other towns and cities.
Airport Parking: The airport offers premium, value and uncovered parking spaces for long term and short term. The short term car parks remain open round the clock. Premium parking costs NZD 3.50 for 0-29 minutes, NZD 7.50 for 30-59 minutes, NZD 11.50 for 60-89 minutes and NZD 15.50 for 90-120 minutes. Thereafter, parking fee is NZD 3.50 per hour with a maximum daily rate of NZD 32.00. Uncovered and Value parks cost NZD 3.00 for 0-29 minutes, NZD 6.50 for 30-59 minutes, NZD 10.00 for 60-89 minutes, NZD 13.50 for 90-120 minutes and thereafter NZD 2.50 per hour. Uncovered Park charges NZD 23.00 per day, whereas Value Park costs NZD 18.00 per day. The main car park has spaces for disabled passengers.
At The Airport: Banking and Money Exchange: Travelex with the help of New Zealand Post and Kiwibank provides a range of banking services such as deposits, withdrawals, loans, new bank account opening etc. Automatic teller machines (ATMs) of Westpac, National Bank, Kiwibank and ANZ are located at the terminal.
Food and Beverage: A number of eateries serve a variety of beverages and food. Passengers can choose from smoothies, fresh juices, vegetarian dishes, ice creams, coffees, pastries, sweet treats, fresh pastas, paninis, burgers, Indian food, gourmet rolls, meals and cakes to name but a few.
Shopping: Coastal and beach lifestyle products, CDs, DVDs, souvenirs, giftware, jewelry, natural skincare products and pure merino products are sold at the Airport Retail Park.
Duty Free: JR and Regency duty free outlets offer world-class liquor, wines, fragrances, skin care products, cosmetics, watches, souvenirs, electronics, confectionery and sunglasses at competitive rates.
Other Services: Complimentary wireless Internet can be accessed from the terminal. The airport features a conference center, lounge, club, post office, first aid facility, taxis, car rental agencies, wash rooms, parenting rooms and public pay phones. Airport ambassadors help passengers in finding services and amenities available at the airport.
Disabled Facilities: Lifts with Braille numbers, adapted toilets and wheelchairs make traveling easier for disabled passengers.
Departure Tax: There is no airport tax but an international departure charge of NZD 25.00 is levied on adults and NZD 10.00 on children.
