On entering from the north, the Pan-American Highway between Alaska (the US) and South America, winding through 15 nations, connects Managua to central and northern parts of Nicaragua. This northern stretch is referred to as North Highway that links Managua with the airport.
Airport Parking: There are 12 parking bays across the main terminal. For the first hour, parking fee is NIO 20.00, NIO 10.00 for the next thirty minutes, NIO 10.00 for the second hour and NIO 150.00 per night. The airport has three parking ticket booths. If parking ticket is not presented on leaving the parking lot, a fine of NIO 120.00 is levied. Parking fee for heavy vehicles such as buses and trucks is NIO 100.00 for the first hour and NIO 50.00 for every additional thirty-minute period.
At The Airport: The airport has everything passengers might need. Banking and Money Exchange: Banco de la Producción (BANPRO) counter offers financial services and Bancentro and Bac y Banpro have ATMs for instant cash.
Food and Beverage: The on site Food Court serves local and international food.
Shopping: Souvenir shops in the public lounge; and retail spaces for a host of merchandise are within the airport premises.
Duty Free: Duty-free stores for tax-free shopping are in the departure area.
Other Services: Leading rent-a-car counters for ground transportation are in the terminal. There is a comfy VIP Lounge on the second level features televisions and Internet access for communication and entertainment. Secure white official taxis available at the airport are driven by drivers in red shirt uniform. Card- and coin-operated public phones are installed in the Public Hall. The phone cards are available at rent-a-car and Post Nicaragua counters. Movistar at the first floor offers cell phone accessories. The first floor houses Post of Nicaragua that sells stamps, postcards and provides mail box facility. The service of baggage porters in blue shirts can be availed of for a fee. There is a tourist information desk and insurance counter. Passengers can surf the Web at the airport using Wi-Fi Internet.
Disabled Facilities: Wheelchairs are available upon request at the airline counters. The terminal features ramps and special toilets for the convenience of the disabled passengers.
