News: The airport refurbishment and expansion program is in progress. An integrated passenger terminal complex is being built to accommodate an increase in passenger traffic during the Common Wealth Games 2010. Terminal 4 and 5 will be constructed to cater to international traffic. Work on an "Airport Express" metro line, linking the airport with New Delhi, is also going on.

Terminal Transfers: The airport has four terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Cargo Terminal and Haj Terminal. The Terminal 1 (T1), comprising 1A, 1B and 1C, manages domestic traffic while Terminal 2, consisting of departures (upper level) and arrivals (lower level), handles international traffic. The recently renovated Haj Terminal has 8 immigration counters, 10 check-in counters and a namaz (prayer) hall. An air-conditioned courtesy inter-terminal coach transports passengers between the domestic and international terminals that are five kilometers apart. Both Airports Authority of India and Indian Airlines run coaches every thirty minutes. DIAL even offers luxury inter-terminal coaches.
Directions: The airport is located west of National Highway (NH) 8, the highway connecting Delhi to Mumbai via Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

The 27-km long Expressway, connecting Delhi and Gurgaon, offers quick access to the airport. Pre-paid taxi and car rental services are available at arrival sections.
Airport Parking: Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have premium and standard parking lots. Long-term parking services are also available on weekly and daily basis. The premium parking costs INR 120/- for four hours. General Car Park area near T1B charges INR 40.00 for first thirty minutes; INR 80.00 for up to two hours; INR 40.00 for an additional hour; and INR 500.00 for one whole day. To use special parking areas designed for special need / handicapped guests, identification is required. If handicapped identification is not placed on a vehicle, the vehicle can be towed away. Vehicles can be parked at curbside just for active loading and unloading. However, unattended vehicles at the curbside could be fined and towed away.
At The Airport: Banking and Exchange: ATMs are installed in the Arrival Visitors Area of the international terminal and Terminal 1A; Currency change facilities are available at all terminals. Food and Beverage: An array of food and beverage outlets is found throughout the airport. Shopping: Duty-free shops are located in departures and arrivals sections of the airport. Other Services: Both domestic and international arrival sections have tourist information centers, help desks, post offices, 24-hour medical units and internet kiosks. A pharmacy is in departure area of the international terminal. The business center at Terminal 1A offers telephones, photocopying, catering and secretarial services and also features a “Child Play Area” with free games and toys at Security hold area (SHA). The SHA at the Terminal 2 has Wi-Fi Internet connectivity. International visitors with valid tickets can use the lounge at the Arrival section and drop-off-area in the International Departure section by paying INR 60.00 per traveler. The Arrival Hall of Terminal 2 has a railway reservation counter. Disabled facilities: Ambulifts, wheelchairs and specially designed toilets and ramps are available for disabled passengers.
Departure Tax: Departure tax of INR 700/- is charged but it is generally included in the ticket cost.
