Terminal Transfers: At Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International in Alabama there is one terminal that is split into two concourses, namely B and C. These extend out from the common terminal area, which is outside of the TSA security checkpoints. The common terminal area houses check-in, baggage claim and ground transportation. Since there is only one terminal building there is no need for transfers.

The airport services Central Alabama and surrounding cities, and is parallel to Interstates 59 and 20, with trouble-free access to I-459 and I-65. The airport website has further maps and directions from many different surrounding destinations.
The airport is serviced by taxis, limousine and shuttle services, with a variety of car rental options available too.
Airport Parking: Hourly parking is available at USD $1 an hour, but is only available for people parking at the airport for under four hours. It is found on level 3 in the parking deck. One will find a crosswalk to Concourse B, from Zone A, B and C in the deck, while a crosswalk to Concourse C is found close to Zone C, D and E in the deck.
Daily parking is intended for persons parking for more than 4 hours at the airport, and is set at $10.00 per day. It is found at level 2 and 4, all the way through to level 7.
A Remote Lot for long-term parking is also available, with a complimentary shuttle service to and from this area.
A Cell Phone Lot also exists, which is a parking area for people collecting passengers. Although drivers must stay with their vehicles, they have 40 minutes to park and wait for the people they are collecting to contact them via cell phone, after which they can collect them from the pick up area.
At The Airport: Banking and Money Exchange: ATMs and FOREX are founding the vicinity of the Business Centre.
Food and Beverage: Some restaurants are found before and after the security point. Shopping: A variety of shops are found before and after the security point.
Other Services: A Business Centre located on the upper level of the terminal building, between concourse B and C. It is open from Monday to Friday, 5:00am to 9:30pm and on weekends from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm. High speed wireless internet, FED-EX package drop service, a bill changer and copy machines are all available within the Business Centre. Wireless Internet can be accessed for free anywhere in the terminal.
The visitor’s information desk is found on the ground level, near the baggage claim depot. Birmingham tourism information is available at the information desk, as well as ‘lost and found’.
A point of interest at Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport is the Southern Museum of Flight. This is found on the east side of the North-South runway.
Jetways are used as access through most of the gates to the aircrafts, However, some use stairs leading to the tarmac to board flights on regional jets. Passenger gates are on the second floor, while baggage handling and aircraft servicing are on the bottom floor.
